Teenagers are often overlooked when it comes to sponsorship — a harsh reality that hit Tim McMorris with full force on his trip to Peru.
As the Mission Coordinator for Promiseland Church, Tim recently traveled to Peru with a team from his church through World Help. It was there that he met Genesis, a teenage girl full of potential who didn’t have a sponsor.

You can travel with World Help to visit your sponsored child
Genesis has a deep love for learning, but like many girls in her community, she would soon be forced to end her education after sixth grade.
As a parent to a teenager, Tim was touched by Genesis’ story and realized he could help her continue her education and chase after her dreams by becoming her sponsor!
Now, Genesis has hope for a better, brighter future — but there are so many other teenagers around the world who are desperately waiting for someone to sponsor them.
Will you join Tim in sponsoring an older child in need? Meet five teenagers who are still hoping for a sponsor:
Asreal (INDSGH050)

Asreal has big dreams of becoming a doctor when he grows up!
Asreal is a 13-year-old boy from a rural community in India. Known for his kind heart and eagerness to help others, he brings joy to those around him despite the challenges he’s faced. His mother died when he was younger, and unable to care for him alone, his father made the difficult decision to send Asreal to a children’s home. Now, Asreal is waiting for someone like YOU to become his sponsor.
Bosco (UGAGSS3482)

When Bosco grows up, he wants to travel to the United States
14-year-old Bosco is the youngest of six children in his family. You’ll likely find him playing soccer under the warm Ugandan sun — his favorite way to spend free time. His parents work tirelessly as farmers, but they earn less than $1 a day for their efforts. They dream of a better future for Bosco, but meeting even his most basic needs is a daily struggle. With the help of a sponsor, Bosco could receive the essentials he needs to break the cycle of poverty.
Sifa (RWASTW076)

Sifa’s favorite subject in school is English
Sifa is a quiet, compassionate 15-year-old girl with a big dream: she wants to become a doctor one day. But to reach that goal, she’ll need the support of a caring sponsor like you. When she was just a baby, Sifa’s mother left her outside a community of widows. Sifa now lives with an elderly woman who lost her own family in the Rwandan genocide. Though loving, they live in poverty, and her guardian struggles to meet Sifa’s most basic needs. Your sponsorship could help give Sifa the support she needs to pursue her dreams.
Safaa (JORZAR079)

Safaa loves to sing songs and dance with her friends
Safaa is a resilient 16-year-old girl and one of nine children in her family. After fleeing the war in Syria, her family resettled in a refugee camp in Jordan — where life is filled with uncertainty. Her mother is sick and requires surgery, and her father bears lasting injuries from the war. Since neither of them can work, Safaa’s daily needs often go unmet. Your sponsorship would provide help and hope to Safaa during her time of need.
Alba (HNDJAN388)

When Alba grows up, she wants to become an accountant
Alba is a cheerful, athletic 17-year-old girl best known for her friendly smile and love of soccer. She spends her days playing with friends … but behind her bright spirit lies a life marked by hardship. Both of her parents sell shrimp in a local market, but the income they earn is small and inconsistent. Although they work hard to provide Alba with her daily necessities, their efforts continually to fall short. You can help bridge the gap by becoming Alba’s sponsor!
